Popularity of river cruising increases in Germany

Michaela Klare of the German national Tourist Office says river cruising has become the fastest growing segment for Americans traveling the European country. Klare noted that many Americans think Germany is more expensive than it actually is, and advised agents to help their clients make their dollar stretch further by doing as the Germans do. "If you keep your eyes open, you will find great food for even better prices in Germany. Beside 'restaurants,' try also to go to 'imbiss' and 'gasstaetten' (snack bars and taverns)," Klare said.
