Poor employee-recognition programs aren't the result of low budgets but instead managers "being lazy," Marisa Keegan writes. For example, inappropriate rewards, such as giving chocolate to a worker with diabetes or an iPod to an employee who's deaf, show a lack of planning and commitment by the boss.
