MOEX Offshore pays $90M to settle Gulf-spill violations

MOEX Offshore will pay $90 million to settle alleged pollution violations related to the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Under the agreement's terms, $45 million will be used for the replenishment of a government oil-spill cleanup fund, while another $20 million will go to Gulf environmental-protection projects, the Department of Justice said. The company owned a 10% interest in BP's well that leaked millions of barrels of crude into the Gulf.
