Mostashari urges more innovators to join the health IT sector

The health IT sector is in need of more innovators to organize data in EHRs and other systems and use them to create tools that can be used to improve patient care coordination, according to National Coordinator for Health IT Dr. Farzad Mostashari. "There is the possibility that one of the major trends with the democratization of information is that there may be patient tools that might play a significant role in care coordination," Mostashari said at an AcademyHealth policy conference last week.
