Merging of US Airways-AA technology will be a challenge

The merger of US Airways and American Airlines will require integrating the carriers' various technical systems. Merging the information technology could take up to four years and cost millions of dollars, experts say. "During the period between the signing and closing of the transaction, a transition-planning team of leaders from both companies will develop a carefully constructed integration plan to help assure a smooth and sustainable transition," an American spokesman said.
