Users flock to video sites to see giant meteor strike

Clips of a giant meteor breaking up over the Russian sky generated 138 million views on YouTube, DailyMotion and other sites, reflecting the popularity of online video and the special appeal of the "video event," according to metrics firm Visible Measures. The meteor event turned out to be "the fastest video event" to tally 100 million views, with one clip from cable network Russia Today generating more than 26 million, Visible Measures found.
