CBO: Raising minimum wage would help some but cut jobs

If Congress adopts President Barack Obama's proposal to increase the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour, 16.5 million workers will see higher income, but 500,000 jobs will be lost, according to the Congressional Budget Office. About 900,000 people would be lifted out of poverty because of increased pay, the CBO says.
