N.D. district alters schedule to accommodate teacher training, PLCs

A North Dakota district will test a school calendar for the 2014-15 academic year that includes a later start for middle- and high-school students on 12 Wednesdays. The change is intended to allow teachers to engage in professional development and work in professional learning communities. On those days, while students will come to school between one hour and two hours later, teachers will arrive 30 minutes earlier than usual.
