Study: Longer-lasting naltrexone safe for heroin addicts

A new study suggests a longer-lasting version of naltrexone may be a safe and effective treatment for opioid drug addicts. The research found an injectable, sustained-release version of the drug was better than the oral form in preventing and reversing the effects of heroin and other opioid drugs.
