Get illegal-immigrant terms in writing when using a temp agency

Outsourcing the recruitment function to staffing agencies does not absolve employers from liability if illegal immigrants are mistakenly hired. However, if an employer in good faith accepted documentation later found to be false and takes steps to correct the situation, penalties are unlikely. Written contracts with reputable employment agencies are the best defense.
