Pilot awaits spring warm-up for 1st flight in experimental airplane

More than a year after ordering the kit for his Chinook Plus 2 fixed-wing airplane, Montana resident Larry Larson is eager for some warmer weather that will let him take to the sky. Larson got his first taste of flying with a motorized parachute, then decided he wanted to graduate to airplanes. That required a pilot's certificate, which he acquired over the summer. "Usually it only takes two weeks. It took me three. I'm a little older," he says.
