Study: Combo reduces risk of kidney disease for diabetics

Type 2 diabetics who received a combination of blood-pressure drugs perindopril and indapamide were at lower risk of developing kidney disease than those who took placebo, according to an analysis of a clinical trial involving more than 11,000 patients. The combination treatment proved effective in reducing the risk in patients with hypertension as well as those with normal blood pressure.
