Virginia teacher wants students to know she cares

A Virginia elementary-school teacher, who has been named a finalist for the 2009 McGlothlin Award for Teaching Excellence, shows her students she cares about them by taking the time to address their individual learning needs. Elizabeth Lester said if one of her first-graders is struggling, she will work with the student to identify and correct the problem.
