Capitol Hill takes notice of pending Pa. refinery closures

The potential closure of three Pennsylvania refineries could affect the economy and cost thousands of jobs, congressional and local officials say. The three Pennsylvania refineries make up more than 50% of the Northeast's refining capacity. Legislators said a congressional solution is unlikely, though Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., and two Pennsylvania lawmakers have suggested a hearing on the national-security ramifications of the shutdowns.
