Homeless students face many challenges in school

Homelessness can have many negative effects on children, including interfering with their performance in school. One homeless student in Michigan said she is distracted in class by her worries, while a former educator said schools sometimes may overestimate students' resources for completing homework outside of school. Absenteeism also can be an issue for homeless students.
