Hospitals take on the feel of spas

Hospitals are incorporating spa elements such as aromatherapy into their treatments, part of a trend toward soothing patients waiting for mammograms, X-rays and other procedures. "There has been a revolution in the health care industry in the past 20 years," said Sara Marberry, executive vice president of Calif.-based Center for Health Design. "The industry has shifted its thinking toward being more patient-centered, (providing) an experience the patient will like, remember and come back for."
