Nurse-led flight crews at the ready in Cape Girardeau

Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center has stationed a flight crew, including a critical care nurse, at Cape Girardeau Regional Airport to provide around-the-clock transport of patients from area hospital NICUs to St. Louis for specialized treatment. Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau also has a neonatal transport team that picks up infants from hospitals in southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, western Kentucky and northern Arkansas.
