An unusually busy catastrophe bond market kicks off 2012

Clariden Leu, an investment manager and private bank based in Switzerland, has noted significant activity in the catastrophe bond market in January. Last month, five new issuances with a volume of nearly $800 million came to the market. More issuances are expected, but Clariden Leu noted that investor interest has started to wane.
