Nursing program readies students to teach patients heart health

Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia offers an associate degree in nursing that includes classes that address heart health. While a physician may make a diagnosis, nurses must be able to educate patients about it and provide a detailed course of action, such as diet and exercise, said R. Carol Cochran, director of nursing.
