Report promotes fiber optics in multi-platform broadband model

Nearly half of all new high-speed Internet connections added during the 12 months that ended Sept. 30, 2012, were fiber technologies, according to a report from Point Topic. The report, which was commissioned by the Broadband Forum, paints fiber-to-the-home as a key solution for broadband, but says the market is still best served by a mix of technologies that can meet different requirements.
