Patients' privacy concerns delay U.K. data-sharing plan

England's National Health Service will delay until this fall the launch of a program to collect patient data and compile it in a central system accessible to researchers. The delay is meant to give patients time to understand how the data will be protected and used, and to opt out if they choose, said Tim Kelsey, the national director for patients and information at NHS England.
