Schwarzenegger Packs A Punch For California After-School Programs

Saying "every child who wants and needs one should have a safe, educationally enriching and fun place to go after school," actor Arnold Schwarzenegger yesterday kicked off a campaign for a proposed after-school program measure. The plan would provide $400 million per year for tutoring and homework assistance for elementary and middle school students. In order to earn a spot on the November ballot, the proposal's backers need more than 400,000 signatures by June 28.
