Sixth Massachusetts district goes against MCAS rule

Berkshire Hills Regional School District school board has voted to give "local diplomas" to students who meet academic graduation requirements but don't pass the MCAS test. The state has said districts that defy the rule are breaking the law and could be denied funding.
