Freedom of speech should respect religion, Ban says

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon believes that freedom of speech should be exercised in a responsible fashion and respect all religious beliefs, his spokeswoman Marie Okabe said Wednesday. Ban is taking the same position as his predecessor, Kofi Annan, did two years ago when the controversy over cartoons depicting Prophet Mohammad first flared.
