Argonne gives girls look at potential science careers

Argonne National Laboratories recently held its ninth "Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day," in cooperation with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, giving girls in grades 6-8 an opportunity to review the kinds of science jobs women hold at the laboratory. Middle-school years are critical years for reaching out to girls because studies show that is when many lose interest in science, says Debby E.R. Quock, an Argonne computer scientist in charge of the career day.
