Duncan: Many teachers at risk of being laid off because of budget cuts

Education Secretary Arne Duncan told attendees at Sunday's National Governors Association meeting that many educators could lose their jobs in the next several months, despite the federal government's attempt to save jobs through last year's stimulus package. "I am very, very concerned about layoffs going into the next school year starting in September. Good superintendents are going to start sending out pink slips in March and April, like a month from now, as they start to plan for their budgets," Duncan said.
