EPA launches action plan to clean up Great Lakes

The Environmental Protection Agency has unveiled a plan to clean up the Great Lakes, which contain 21% of the world's fresh water. Congress authorized $475 million over five years to restore the ecology of the Great Lakes, and Obama proposed an additional $300 million in his 2011 budget. The action plan developed by 16 federal agencies dedicates $60 million to fighting the invasive species of Asian carp.
