Leadership isn't about telling people what to do

Most people think good leadership is about making the right decisions -- but in a big organization, that's hardly ever true, says Jana Eggers, chief executive of clothing company Spreadshirt. Once a company expands beyond a handful of people, the boss' real job is to look at the big picture while others make the day-to-day decisions, Eggers says. "I have to inspire a team to make the right decisions every day," she adds. "That's not an easy thing."
