Middle school seeks to encourage healthy eating

Beginning next week, a middle school in Maine plans to roll out a new healthier menu to comply with new federal nutrition standards. To ease students into the healthier options, such as an expanded salad bar and nutritious entrees, kitchen manager Louise Tammaro said she plans to place menus on cafeteria tables to remind students about the new selections. She said she also encourages students to try new foods.
