Review ties kidney damage to higher death risk in diabetes

The annual mortality risk for type 2 diabetes patients ranged from 0.28 per 100 patient years to 8.24 per 100 patient years, while in those with more advanced kidney disease, the death risk was between 5.9 per 100 patient years and 8.24 per 100 patient years, an analysis in Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease found.
