Wildlife pose risk of rabies transmission to unvaccinated pets

Health department officials in Arkansas report that three skunks and one bull tested positive for rabies in one county, and only one out of the 11 domestic dogs exposed to the virus in the state had been vaccinated. Officials are reminding owners to have pets vaccinated for rabies, not just to adhere to state law, but also to protect animal and human health.
