Firm issues favorable impact statement for Canada wind project

Consulting firm AMEC Environment & Infrastructure issued a favorable environmental impact statement for a proposed 30-megawatt wind development project on Canada's Prince Edward Island. The 10-turbine wind farm proposal is pushed by government-owned PEI Energy, and construction could start this spring. The wind farm "would contribute to the reduction of [greenhouse gas] emissions required to meet Canada's and the province of PEI's targets," according to the impact statement.
