Amazon and Apple are falling short with agencies

Amazon and Apple are two of the most successful tech companies in the world, but their efforts to woo advertisers have been marred by slowness, overconfidence and skepticism, agency execs say. Neither company places much importance on ad sales or building relationships with the ad world, observers add. "It's almost like going into a room and them putting a gun to your head and showing you your future," said Norm Johnston of Mindshare, describing a meeting with Amazon.
