CDC report: Wellness program pays off for students in Wash. county

Seven school districts, most in South King County, Wash., are making progress in their efforts to reduce childhood obesity, according to a report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The report shines a light on the effectiveness of a national program called Communities Putting Prevention to Work. Data show the rate of obesity declined by 17% from 2010 to 2012 among eighth-, 10th- and 12th-graders in the districts.
