Macy's works to gain fans in Indiana

Macy's plans to open an Indiana district office to help its stores win approval from loyal customers of the former L.S. Ayres and Lazarus chains. "These merchants will be in stores all the time to fine-tune and make sure each store appeals specifically to the area," Jim Sluzewski, spokesman for Macy's, said. "Some stores sell more size 12s than other stores. Some colors appeal to certain stores' shoppers more than others. We want to get the mix just right."
