New engine would cut aircraft noise, emissions, Pratt & Whitney says

Speaking at the Singapore Air Show, Pratt & Whitney executives said Airbus and Boeing have expressed interest in the engine maker's geared turbofan engine. Pratt & Whitney said the engine will reduce fuel burn by more than 12% as well as cut carbon dioxide emissions, maintenance costs and noise.
