Editorial: Schapiro hypocritical with BofA disclosure demands

Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Mary Schapiro is trying to "bully" Bank of America by requiring it to "adopt rules on compensation and disclosure that aren't required for any other public company" as part of a $150 million settlement, according to a Wall Street Journal editorial. Schapiro did not, however, impose the same rules on herself when she headed the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, a private nonprofit corporation, the editorial says. Schapiro earned $3.3 million at FINRA in 2008.
