Executive sees 6% rise in global demand for monoethylene glycol

MEGlobal President and CEO Ramesh Ramachandran said he expects the global demand for monoethylene glycol to grow by 6% this year, led by the emerging markets of India and China. Ramachandran estimates that China's annual demand for MEG, a chemical commonly used to produce polyester fibers for clothes, will reach about 7 million metric tons, with between 1.5 million to 2 million metric tons in India.
