Patent wars heat up: RIM, Nokia on hot seat

The patent dispute between Motorola and Research in Motion heated up last week when the U.S. International Trade Commission said it would probe Motorola's complaint, originally filed Jan. 22, which stems from the end of the companies' license agreement in 2007. In another patent case, the ITC agreed to hear whether Nokia's phones and computers have infringed on Apple's patents. Apple and Motorola are seeking to ban U.S. importation of their rivals' products.
