Chase ready to take on BofA, Wells Fargo in Bay Area

Aiming to close the gap between market leaders Bank of America and Wells Fargo, Chase Bank will add at least 25 and possibly up to 30 branches in Northern California this year. Chase Bank now has 4.6% of deposit market share in the Bay Area, compared with Bank of America's 37.8% and Wells Fargo's 21.9%. "We are looking at every single county for expansion," said Chase spokeswoman Eileen Leveckis.
