Education Dept. uses Twitter to seek opinions from teachers, others

The U.S. Education Department is using Twitter to ask teachers, administrators, students and others for their opinions about federal policy decisions and education issues. The department has hosted Twitter Town Hall meetings, including one this week about rural education and another earlier this month on issues in the Latino community. While officials say the Tweets do not help drive policy decisions, they added they do review the feedback they receive.
