How the FCC uses and shares geographic information

The Federal Communications Commission collects large amounts of data, including information about broadband access and speed that it recently compiled. The agency makes some of this data available on online maps that are designed to be usable by the general public, said Michael Byrne, the FCC's geographic information officer.
