NBCT: What are the signs teachers are ready to lead?

National Board Certified Teacher Marsha Ratzel points out five signs that teachers are becoming leaders. She writes that teacher-leaders want to make a difference outside of the classroom, give advice to their peers, "think big" when addressing problems, mentor novice teachers and are lifelong learners. "When you find yourself writing, advising, listening, collaborating, networking, seeking knowledge, reflecting, be aware. These are traits of leadership," she writes.
