Precast concrete aids in construction of Marriott project in Canada

Use of precast concrete hollow core floor and roof slabs is allowing builders to construct a new hotel in Edmonton, Alberta, during Canada's cold winter. The eight-floor, 178,000-square-foot facility is the first project in Canada to use the so-called Girder-Slab System, although about 100 buildings in the U.S. have used it.
