Program offers math and science training to out-of-work teachers

A new program sponsored by Sacramento, Calif., schools and a local university is aimed at helping out-of-work teachers earn math and science credentials that will help them return to the classroom. The program, subsidized by private grant funding, is serving teachers who have been laid off and those who have yet to be hired by providing them with additional training in hard-to-staff subjects.
