Southwest mechanics vote against seniority deal with AirTran

Southwest Airlines mechanics have rejected an offer to combine their seniority list with that of AirTran Airways mechanics. Southwest acquired AirTran last year, and pilots and flight attendants have already combined their seniority lists. The next step would be for the carriers' mechanics unions to seek arbitration, Southwest says.
