UP advises motorists on rail crossing safety in Texas

Union Pacific partnered with local police in Harlingen, Texas, to raise awareness of rail crossing safety among vehicle drivers. Eighteen citations in 90 minutes were issued to drivers who disregarded active crossing gates or stopped too close or far away from tracks. "You have seen car-on-car accidents and what can happen, or even semi-on-car accidents," said UP conductor Frank De La Rosa. "Can you imagine a train that is all steel? Protect yourself, protect your families. We want everybody to be safe."
