Online ad sales total $9.6 billion in 2004

Research from the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers puts total online ad spending for last year at a record $9.6 billion, a 32% rise from $7.3 billion in 2003. The fourth quarter of 2004 posted a 24% increase over the same period the year before and marked the fifth consecutive quarter in which records for online ad spending were broken.
