Florida proposal aims to bar unfair use of credit scores

Florida officials are working on a proposal to ensure that insurance companies do not use credit information to unfairly raise rates for poor consumers. Regulators are also studying how some insurers use employment history and educational background to determine premiums. Insurers say there is a strong correlation between credit histories and the financial risk of drivers filing claims.
