Web-shop deal could mean more Net revenue for News Corp.

News Corp.'s acquisition of online shop Strategic Data Corp., whose software allows marketers to target users based on their interests and demographics, should help it generate more revenue from MySpace and its other Net properties, said Peter Levinsohn, president of Fox Interactive Media. Strategic Data's software can track the ads that registered site users click on, and it serves up marketing based on their hobbies and the list of preferred products on their pages.
